Responsibility at Etch and Echo

We believe that what you wear should reflect not just your style, but your values. That’s why at Etch and Echo, we’re committed to ethical sourcing, fair labour, and conscious design—at every stage of our process.

Ethical Sourcing & Fair Trade

We work with suppliers who share our commitment to fair trade and social responsibility. That means supporting ethical sourcing, prioritising fair wages, and upholding the rights and wellbeing of every person involved in the journey of your jewellery. This commitment extends beyond materials—it’s about bettering both the global jewellery industry and the communities we touch.

Recycled Precious Metals

We use 100% recycled precious metals in our pieces, certified by SCS Global Services, a global leader in third-party environmental and sustainability certifications.
For pieces that contain newly mined metals, our supplier ensures they are sourced in the most responsible way available.

Gemstone Sourcing

Our supplier follows strict protocols when it comes to sourcing mined gemstones. While full traceability can be challenging due to the nature of gemstone trading, they work closely with trusted partners to ensure ethical practices at every stage.

Their gemstone specialists—both in the U.S. and at the sourcing office in Bangkok—visit international suppliers and cutters in person to uphold fair labour and responsible sourcing practices.

All gemstones are clearly disclosed and labelled. Any treatments they’ve undergone are openly shared—because transparency matters.

Diamonds

Our diamonds are sourced from trusted suppliers who manufacture their own rough stones.
We are committed to selling conflict-free diamonds, in full alignment with the Kimberley Process and the World Diamond Council System of Warranties. That means:

  • Every mined diamond is certified conflict-free by government-validated documentation.

  • Diamonds are transported in sealed, tamper-proof containers between approved countries.

  • All invoices include written guarantees of ethical sourcing.

Our supplier is also aligned with the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association of America (DMIA), reinforcing our shared commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in the diamond industry.

Vendor Standards

We only work with vendors who operate in full compliance with international laws and local regulations. All partners are required to sign a Vendor Code of Conduct, which includes our Responsible Sourcing Protocol and draws on globally recognised standards to support social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

Why We Make to Order

We select pieces to be treasured—not mass produced. Every item is made to order to reduce waste, avoid overproduction, and honour the slow, intentional nature of fine jewellery. It’s our way of doing better for the planet while creating something personal, lasting, and truly yours.

This is the standard we hold ourselves to—not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because we believe jewellery should be made with meaning, not compromise.
